Browsing the Catalog
Category Home Pages
Category home pages are starting points for searching within a certain group of products. In this example, we are looking at the Living Room category home page. This page is accessed by clicking the 'living room' link in the header (if you hover over the living room link, a drop down menu will also appear). The Living Room page is a great place for a retailer to tell the customer what is special about them in regards to this product category. This page will link to any relevant pages within the site, including product pages. Other common category home pages include Bedroom, Dining Room, Home Office, Appliances, Mattress, Accent Tables, etc.
Results Pages
Results pages are the primary product browsing pages. These pages return results from the content library based on what the customer has requested to view. Results pages can return both individual items and room settings, which represent entire collections
Multiple Layout Templates
Our software comes with 3 templates to display catalog results. These are selected using the administrative toolset and can be changed at anytime, on the fly.
Narrow Your Search
Narrow Your Search is a powerful filtering tool that allows a customer to specify exactly what she is looking for.
Product Comparision
The product comparision tool is used to quickly identify differences between products. There are two places a comparison can be initiated, the results page and the wishlist.
Product Page
Overview
The product page is for displaying an item. We have multiple templates available for the product page and they all share some common content sections.
Multiple Layouts
There are multiple layout templates available for the product page. Below are examples of the available templates. These templates are chosen using the administrative toolset and can be changed at any time.
Image Viewer
Our multiple image viewer allows the customer to quickly view product images. It is very easy to use, when you move your mouse over a thumbnail it will show a medium size image of that image. When you click on the thumbnail or the medium size image, a larger image will open in a new window.
Link Menu
The product page link menu contains helpful links that are relevant to the item being shown. This menu is customizable and can include just about anything. Below is a list of some common links.
- View This Collection - Links to the collection page that this item is a member of.
- More from this Mfg - Links to the manufacturer page that this collection belongs to.
- Call Us - A small popup that displays the telephone numbers of your store locations.
- Email Us - Links to the contact us page, bringing the item information along with it.
- Add to Wishlist - Adds this item to the customer's wishlist. This link does not leave the page.
- View Wishlist - Links to the customer's wishlist.
- Email to a Friend - A small popup that allows a customer to email this page to a friend.
- Print this Page - Prints the current page, in a printer friendly format.
- View Ads/Credit Offers - Links to an ad or credit offer. This link can change as often as your offers change.
Item Description
The item description is unique to this product. By default, the description comes from our content library. You have the option of replacing or adding to our description using the administrative tools that are also available.
Collection Description
The collection description applies to the entire collection that this product is a part of. Like the item description, the default comes from our content library and you have the option of editing or overwriting it using the administrative tools.
On-Display Disclaimer
This is an optional disclaimer. It states that not everything shown on the site is on display in your showroom. There is an optional link to a section of the site that is hopefully more representative of your actual showroom.
Detailed Attributes
This section shows the detailed attributes of this item. Some of these attributes are unique to the item, some are inherited from the collection this item belongs to. The attributes shown vary by item and information availability.
Related Items
These are the other items that belong to the same collection. Clicking one will bring the customer to that item's product page. These thumbnails are grouped together by room and function.
Collection Page
Overview
A collection page represents a group of related items. It has information that applies to the group as a whole, as well as links to each of the items in the collection.

Collection Detail Images
Alternate Colors
The color of this collection is shown, along with any alternate colors this collection is available in. If the customer clicks one of the alternate colors, she is brought to the collection page for that color.
Feature Images
The collection detail images show features of the collection that make it stand out. This section also includes images for the hardware and any other features that stand out for this collection. Clicking any of these thumbnails will bring up a popup window with a larger image.
Collection Description
The collection description applies to the entire group of products and is shown on the product pages as well. Like the item description, the default comes from our content library and you have the option of editing or overwriting it using the administrative tools.
Collection Items
These are the items that are a part of this collection. Clicking a thumbnail will bring the customer to the product page for that item. The thumbnails are grouped by room type and function.
Manufacturer Pages
Overview
The manufacturer section of the website provides your customers with information about the brands you carry.
Manufacturer List
This page is a list of the brands you carry, linking to a page for each brand.
Manufacturer Page
A manufacturer page shows a description of that brand, a link to their website (if available), and the collections by that brand that you have chosen to show on your site.
Manufacturer Link Page
A manufacturer link is done in a controlled manner. Your logo and contact us link stay at the top of the page. When a customer clicks the contact us button at the top of the screen it will bring her to your contact page, not the manufacturer's.
List Pages
Collection List
The collection list page is a list of every collection on your site. This list is useful for auditing and searching.
Item List
The item list page is a list of every item on your site, sorted by manufacturer and collection. This list is useful for auditing and searching.
Product Type List
The product type list page is a list of all the product types represented on your site, along with a count of how many items are in each product type. Clicking on the thumbnail will bring the user to a results page that contains those items.
Store Profile Pages
Store profile pages provide detailed information about your store locations to your customers. This includes store hours, directions, and contact information. This page features an interactive map the customer can use to get detailed driving directions to your store. This information is controlled using the administrative toolset.
Contact Us
The contact us page is the primary source of online communication from your customers. They will use this page to ask you for product information including availability and price. You will need to be prepared to respond to your customers quickly and effectively.
This page also has a list of your stores with their contact information and links to the store profile pages.
The three scenarios below outline how the contact us page is used.
Scenario 1: Non-specific
Here, a user clicks a contact us link on a random page. She will be linked to a general contact us page that will let her submit the form for general assistance.
Scenario 2: Request more information on a product
In this situation, a user clicks the 'email us' or 'request more info' link on an item or collection page. She is requesting informatin about a specific product or group. The item information (and a link to it's page) will also be included in the email sent to the store.
Scenario 3: Request more information from a link
The contact us button on a linked page goes to your form. When a user clicks that button, she will be linked to the contact us page with a message saying where she came from. The link address will also be included in the email sent to the store.
Wish List
The wishlist lets your customers save items they are interested in for later viewing. It can help your salespeople make recomendations to you customers.
A customer does not need to register or sign in in order to add items to the wishlist, but if she does not register she will not be able to access that wishlist on a later visit. She can add items to her wishlist, then register, and her wishlist will be saved. If she has already registered, she just needs to sign in. Any items in her 'anonymous' wishlist will be added to her registered wishlist.
You can see what customers have added to their wishlists by using the administrative toolset.
Registration Process
Customers must register on the site to save a wishlist for later viewing. She has the choice of a 'wishlist only' registration, which keeps her fairly anonymous, and an email registration, which will make her eligible for receiving email promotions from you.
Optional Confirmation Process
By default, a customer only needs to submit the registration form to complete the process. However, if you would like to require the customer to confirm her email address exists there are a couple of additional steps. A situation where you might want to require an email confirmation would be if you were offering a reward for signing up for your email list. The customer would submit the registration form, receive an email asking her to confirm, click the link in the email, sign on to the site, print her reward (gift certificate, coupon, etc).
Credit Application
Typically an online credit application is provided by your credit partner. The credit landing page is the link to your online credit application. The landing page contains information about your credit offerings and provides a space to advertise special credit offers.
Room Planner
The room planner landing page provides a link to an online room planner. If you already use a room planner service we will link to it. If you do not currently use a room planner, we will link to a third party site that has a room planner.
