Web Merchandising & Copywriting Specialist

We are looking for people who recognize the importance of web content and realize that quality content (descriptions, pictures and graphics) is the single most important requirement to having a quality website. The majority of time spent in this position will be creating web product presentations of name brand furniture collections. It will include collecting information, writing copy, entering data, managing images and photos. You will be required to conduct research, communicate with retail clients and factory representatives and objectively review and categorize merchandise to create strong product presentations that will help salespeople sell and consumers shop for these products. You will be required to provide exceptional service in a team environment.
Responsibilities will include the following:
- Develop online product presentations, reviews and advertisements for brand name furniture lines - including copy writing, digital photo and image creation, and some multi-media.
- Create compelling website "sales presentations" for home furnishings products and collections of furniture
- Create and edit product descriptions and ad copy
- Manage product database and digital website product content
- Gather, collect, synthesize and present product information from websites, printed materials, showrooms, and interviewing factory reps, retail buyers and salespeople
- Enter product descriptions and define product features and attributes
- Work with clients to help setup and manage custom websites
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with retail clients and their suppliers • Assume ownership of other tasks and projects as they occur
- Help define and implement new website features, technologies, and user interfaces
- Responsibilities may also include client relationship management, website development, technology, online marketing and public relations.

Position Qualifications & Requirements:
- Strong copy writing skills - ability to write objective reviews, online sales presentations, and descriptions for information rich/big ticket furniture products
- Strong working proficiency with computers a must and an understanding of web technologies is helpful. (Individuals who do not possess strong computer and internet skills should not apply for this position)
- Interest in online merchandising, online marketing, internet business strategy and online shopping
- Interest in furniture and home furnishings products and brick and mortar furniture retailing
- A passion for online user experience, online shopping and website design and navigation
- Interest in Photoshop and working with digital photos
- Strong writing, grammar and proofreading skills
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Passionate about customer service!
- Ability to juggle multiple projects and deliver against tight deadlines
- Ability to work hard but also work smart - this means creatively identifying efficient processes and better ways of doing things
- Interest in HTML, Graphics Design and/or Flash preferred but not required
- Familiarity with online search, search engine optimization, and SEO writing skills (the ability to identify important keyword search phrases for a product) preferred.

This is an entry level position. You will work as part of a small but very talented technology team. We are looking for a person who is excited about learning new technology and working in a team oriented environment. We are looking for someone who cares deeply about reliability, has a tenacious attitude about trouble shooting and fixing bugs or problems, and is an effective trainer. The ideal candidate understands that success means having things run smoothly, and that problems must be quickly identified and solved. You will be required to provide exceptional service in a team environment. The majority of time spent in this position will be on IT activities. It will also include creating and maintaining web pages, providing technical support to clients, managing local and remote web servers, maintenance of workstation computers, making software and hardware buying decisions, administration of internal telephone system. A significant percentage of your time will also be spent on creating web product presentations of for furniture products. This includes collecting information, writing copy, entering data, managing images and photos.

- Be willing and able to work with a variety of technologies, including: websites, telephony, network, web server, software, cables, operating systems, etc.
- Work with clients to help setup and manage custom websites
- Help define and implement new website features, technologies, and user interfaces
- Work with the IT team to develop and execute company-wide hardware/software strategy
- Work with web server hosting company to ensure server stability, redundancy, backups
- Work with clients to create and deliver effective Email marketing content
- Establish and maintain daily routines for backups, redundancy, server monitoring, and processing client content
- Manage product database and digital website product content
- Assume ownership of other tasks and projects as they occur
- Responsibilities may also include client relationship management, online marketing, product presentation creation, and more.
