With a degree in retail merchandising, two years’ of interior design education, retail visual merchandising experience, a passion for descriptive writing, and an eye for design, she easily translates her experience into creating and managing custom content for clients and designing graphics and marketing communications.

With her background in interior design, Mai is passionate about creating quality content that will help consumers visualize furniture in their home’s décor and enable them to achieve the exact atmosphere they desire, whether it is a clean, streamlined modern interior or a cozy, welcoming sanctuary. “You can’t use your senses—except sight—when shopping and researching furniture online. Mai is also passionate about any project requiring the use of creativity. Creating graphics that are visually appealing and attention grabbing as well as functional is a challenge she thrives upon. “The task of being creative, of thinking outside the box, thinking outside the norm while trying to balance a message and design to coax a specific emotional response from the target audience can really hurt my brain like an extra challenging Sudoku puzzle, but it’s liberating once you’ve solved it!”

Internet Passion:
The Internet is a powerful tool and Mai finds it hard to imagine life before the Internet. With family a state away and friends in different countries, she uses the Internet to keep in touch by chatting, webcamming, e-mailing, and sharing pictures. Mai finds herself using the Internet mostly as a research and comparison tool. If she wants to buy a bookcase, she looks at websites to compare and then go into the retail store to buy it. “If your company is not on the Internet, you are really losing out on potential consumer traffic.”

The Internet is also great for learning! Did you know that celery has negative calories? It takes more calories to eat a piece of celery than the celery has in it to begin with. Another helpful and random piece of information: chewing gum while peeling onions will keep you from crying!

Life Outside of FurnitureDealer.net:
With the free time that she has, Mai loves spending time with family and friends, watching movies and eating raw fish and spring rolls. She also enjoys biking and taking walks to enjoy the rare perfect Minnesota weather.
