The Role
FurnitureDealer.net has a job opening for an entry level or junior App Developer. The person in this role will be responsible for all Android and iOS app development in the company. He or she will
work closely with our existing web development team and other teams within the company to take ideas from starting concept to finished product. While there is a very prominent coding aspect to
this role, this person must be strong in other areas to be successful. If you only want to write code and be fed projects - please do not apply.
In this role you'll be responsible for building, maintaining, and evolving a suite of mobile apps. The users of these apps will be our furniture retailer clients, their employees, and their
customers. This is an exciting and unique situation because you'll be starting from scratch and working from the ground up to create mobile apps that truly help others be successful.
Some of the responsibilities you'll have in this role will be to work with our team to define what each app will be, who will use it, and how it will help them. You'll need to plan the architecture
of the app, work with our team to build API's the app will use, code the app, test it, work with users to refine it, develop a vision for improving the app over time, and more. The end result we
are looking for is a set of mobile apps that are functional, easy to use, beautiful, and valued by our clients.
This is as much of a product development role as it is a coding role, both are critical to being successful in this role. You will own and direct the whole project, not just the coding aspect.
For our web development we currently use .NET and the rest of the Microsoft stack. Our default for app development would be to continue down that path. Experience or interest in the Xamarin
platform would be preferred, but not required. If you have another cross platform (iOS and Android) approach we are open to that.
This is a junior developer role or entry level role. If you have a couple of years of mobile app development experience, that would be perfect. If you do not have formal mobile app development experience we
are still interested in meeting you. Our team is experienced in training and developing people to become software developers. If you are strong on the UI/UX side of things but do not have experience
with databases or building RESTful services, again we still want to hear from you.
